Abstract

The ۳D printing process is an efficient and low-cost production method for the rapid production of parts that are complex in terms of geometry, structure, and mechanical behavior. The study of the mechanical behavior of these structures is very important to understand and optimize the performance of ۳D printing materials. In this paper, the mechanical properties of ۳D printing parts are investigated for PLA material based on constitutive stress-strain relationin plane stress state and the effect of fabrication angle on the anisotropy properties of the material is analyzed utilizing simple tensile tests in various material directions. Assuming orthotropic behavior, the strength changes due to anisotropy are investigated. It was observed that assuming orthotropic behavior is a suitable assumption to express the mechanical behavior of produced materials using ۳D printing methods. The obtained results can be used insoftware for numerical analysis of ۳D printed parts similar to what is used for modeling composite materials.
